Carlos Beltran would really give the Mets that middle of the order bat they need.

Second opinion came back on Mr. Beltran. No surgery needed. Sigh. Of. Relief. Rest through the All-Star break should do the trick.

My only concern is, this seems like it could be something that can linger and while he plays through it, I can’t help but wonder if this will re-occur when we are about to strike. Obviously he went down at the wrong time for the Mets NOW but once Carlos gets back, will we have him through September?

I know it doesn’t look like it but if we can “tread water” until some horses get back, legitimately it’s like fielding a new team for a nice stretch run. I just hope Carlos Beltran is a part of it because there are no replacements out there for him.

And don’t put Alex Rios name in my mouth because I’ll spit it back out, he’s soft and makes like 60MM more than he should.
