The Mets have several holes that they need to fill this winter and Starting Pitcher and everday Left Fielder are two of the most important upgrades to have going into the 2010 season.
Roy Halladay may be coming to the Mets from the Toronto Blue Jays, while it is not likely he will decide to come to New York choosing to be a Met instead a of a Yankee.
In order for the Mets to acquire Halladay by trade, they will be in the position of giving up several top name prospects combined with one or two other players, whether they are position players or pitchers .
Matt Holliday will most likely stay in St Louis for another year with the Cardinals, but as a Free Agent, his options are open and the Mets know that an everyday left fielder who is a power hitter is a priority.
Holliday’s contract demands may be more than the Mets are willing to spend but the Wilpons have told Omar Minaya that he has the budget that he needs, so it is possible that the Mets can spend the bulk of their winter budget to bring Holliday to New York.

Doc Halladay is the one person we need to turn this mess around. Whatever Toronto wants, I will round it up and drop them off at the border! We saw with the SF Giants last year that you can win with great pitching and a so-so offense. The Mets have a better offense than so-so, if they go out and sign a Chone Figgins. This would give us a player that plays everyday and can play anywhere. Our line up will lack power, but we can use Citi Field as a weapon and run the bases like no mans business. Johan, Doc, Ollie, Maine and Pelf will give as a solid rotation with two studs on top! I’d like our chances next year with these two additions in the line-up.
