Santa, I think I’ve been through enough this year. I don’t think I am asking for too much this off-season, in fact I will only bother you for one thing and one thing only. I’ll let Omar Minaya get the rest. But I expect you to deliver on this one request. I cannot tolerate Daniel Murphy leading the team in Home Runs. I don’t think our RBI leader should only have 76 RBI’s.

Santa, all I want for Christmas is, Matt Holliday.

It’d be nice to have a power hitting left fielder for a change. It seems like it’s been forever. I can’t even remember having a power hitting left fielder. Kevin Mitchell? Kevin McReynolds? Cleon Jones????! I seriously think that is it. So sad. Sometimes I wonder what the hell am I a Met fan for.

I think getting Holliday would make many of Met fans happy for the new year if he was under our tree. We need his 29 HR a year average with his lifetime .318 AVG and 592 total RBI’s. We need his “clubhouse prescence” in CitiField. Santa, Old St. Nick I don’t think you understand what is at stake here. We are in dire need of a power hitter. If you deliver Holliday I won’t ask anything else from you until his contract is up.

Do we have a deal? I can make my wife bake cookies……..

I don’t think it is too much to ask. I hope Minaya makes some serious progress in the winter meetings. I have to agree that we also need to addess the pitching but to be honest, if our rotation and bullpin can stay healthy for just ONE year then we have a real shot. Especially with an addition like Holiday. He can protect David Wright in that line-up who may start to even see some fastball out over the plate for once. Maybe this year he can actually drive those balls. We’ll see!! Mets 2010!

I agree Holliday would be great in the lineup. Also Let Murphy play every day , you will see that as he did in the past he will hit both lefties and righties. He wil get stronger and hit 20 or more HRs , 80-100 RBI in this lineup, and over 300 .Dont platoon him. Razor Shines in a comment to shakers and movers in Matt Cerones blog said the same thing.
