The $1 Million Dollar Question…..?

The Question No Met Fan Wants to Answer

The Question No Met Fan Wants to Answer

BY ZACHARY SCHULMAN
STACHE WRITER

I have been asked an infinite amount of times who I am going to root for in the World Series if it is Yankees vs. Phillies, and it is looking ever so likely that it will be. I am NOT rooting for either team. I refuse. I will not pull a Brad Lidge and sell my soul to the devil for a perfect regular season in Saves only to suck the following season.

I dislike the Yankee fans more than I do the Yankee team. Being from Jersey, a majority of my close friends are Yankee fans, all legitimate too. They are not the chicks who only know Jeter and think he is hot and therefore are fans. They actually know who Ramiro Pena and David Robertson are. I give them credit for that. I do not give them credit for hyping their 26 World Championships in a what have you done for me lately way. Suck it.

I mean I could easily bring up the 2004 ALCS to shut them up for a few minutes. But that will only be a temporary solution because this season has seen EVERYTHING go right for the Yanks. If you disagree with me, name me something that turned out terrible for the Yankees this year, I DARE YOU. As has been common in the City that never sleeps the Mets will again become insignificant if the Yankees win a 27th world title.

Hamels to Have Elbow Examined

hamels

BY MICHAEL GANCI
EDITOR

The Mets recently went through a time of anxiety when Johan Santana was hurting, and now it is the Phillies’ turn. They have sent their star pitcher Cole Hamels to have his elbow examined, as he is sore and they want to play it safe. Now, there is no inclination that this is anything major as of yet, and the Phillies would be smart just to handle this in a precautionary manner.

Hamels was excellent throughout the playoffs last season, and he was instrumental in the Phillies’ world series run in 2008. Hamels also did an interview in the off season where he said that the Phillies are the best team in the NL East. Players in this rivalry love to talk, and I can’t wait to see what the Philly reaction is when they get their first exposure to Francisco Rodriguez.

This is definitely something to keep a close eye on, because a Phillies team without Hamels would be like a Mets team without Santana. Trouble would most certainly be on the horizon.
